FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., March 2, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hang w/, the live-streaming app, launches a new version that includes filters for live video broadcasts. Filters are a fun way for users to express their creativity and customize content. Photo sharing platforms are packed with filters, and now, Hang w/ users will also be able to add a touch of personality to the live-videos they stream for viewers on the app.
Grammy Award Winning Producer, Music Producer of Fox's hit show Empire, and investor in the Hang w/ platform – Timothy "Timbaland" Mosley was one of the first to preview the filter feature before it was released to the market. "Hang w/ is pushing the idea of live sharing into the future," said Mosley. "As artists and creators are drawn to the platform, these filters give them a new way to express their creativity live."
The platform's new version offers five different filters for users to choose from. Users can adjust filters before or during a broadcast by simply selecting the filter tab and flipping through the various options to preview how their video will be seen by others. In addition to being able to add filters to live-videos, users are now able to save their videos once the live-broadcast has ended with the "Save to Phone" feature.
The filters include:
Andrew Maltin, CEO of Hang w/, said: "Filters have become an inseparable part of social media photo sharing, and it is only natural that users would want to do the same with video. We've also released the Save-to-Phone feature because we believe Hang w/ is becoming a creative medium and our users will want to save the content they create. By saving broadcasts directly to the phone, they'll have high quality footage that they can view later, share on YouTube, or cut together for other uses."
The Hang w/ platform allows users to "hang with" each other via live-streaming video and simultaneous chat. Users can follow people they are interested in, and the app notifies them when that person starts a live broadcast so they can "Tune-In" immediately. Ads that appear on the screen during the broadcast earn the user a share of the app's revenue (the amount is determined by the number of users who have been exposed to the ads).
