The "Sharknado" franchise is growing.
Mark Cuban, owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and chairman of AXS TV, will play the president of the United States in the latest "Sharknado" movie, the Syfy network announced Monday. Ann Coulter, a political commentator and author, will play the vice president.
Cuban and Coulter are the latest celebrities to join a movie that will already feature Jerry Springer, 'N Sync's Chris Kirkpatrick and Chris Jericho.
"Sharknado 3," a Syfy made-for-TV movie and the sequel to "Sharknado" and "Sharknado 2: The Second One," will premiere on the network this July. The second installment in the franchise was reportedly Syfy's highest-rated original movie.
Disclosure: Syfy is owned by NBCUniversal Cable, a division of NBCUniversal, CNBC's parent company.
