Tesla delivered 55% more cars in Q1 than a year ago

Tesla Motors delivered 10,030 vehicles during the first quarter of 2015, a 55 percent increase over the same period of 2014, according to a company statement issued Friday morning.

The company will announce its quarterly sales figure within three days of each quarter's end, according to the statement.

"This is only one measure of our financial performance and should not be relied on as an indicator of our quarterly financial results, which depend on a variety of factors, including the cost of sales, foreign exchange movements and mix of directly leased vehicles," Tesla noted.
