The site, a subsidiary of GrubHub, made the announcement via Twitter. Affected users who tried to access the page were automatically redirected to a strange website.
Within about an hour, a Seamless rep said most of the issue had been solved.
"Seamless is now up and running for nearly all users. The very small fraction of users having difficulties should see a resolution soon," a spokeswoman told CNBC Friday evening.
GrubHub shares were flat in after-hours trading.
