DALLAS, April 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Associa, the world's leading community management firm, pledged its support and volunteer efforts at the Third Annual Singing Hills Earth Day which took place Thursday, April 16, from 4 - 6 p. at the Singing Hills Park and Recreation Center in South Dallas.
The program's purpose is to educate, empower, and establish community accountability for youth. Associa Supports Kids (ASK) and its mascot Scout helped promote youth safety, encourage healthy habits and support environmental awareness.
"The turnout was fabulous. So many elementary and middle school aged kids came out and were genuinely interested in our environmental initiatives," said Associa Corporate Citizenship Director Annette Ratliff. "We handed out gardening tool kits, recycling information, stuffed animals, puzzles, temporary tattoos, and even some live plants."
This year about 25 vendors attended the Dallas Parks and Recreation event including Cease the Grease, Dallas Water, Dallas Fire & Rescue, Dallas Junior Police Academy, Methodist Hospital, Dallas Bike and Trail and K104 FM. The annual event saw close to 150 kids and their parents from the neighborhood in attendance.
