Check out the companies making headlines after the bell Tuesday:

Amgen - Shares rose nearly 3 percent after the biotech maker topped first-quarter estimates on the top and bottom lines. Amgen also raised its full-year guidance.

Yahoo - The tech giant reported first-quarter earnings and revenue that missed projections as earnings per share declined some 60 percent from a year ago. Shares fell about 1 percent, before turning higher.

Chipotle Mexican Grill - The restaurant chain's first-quarter profit beat Street forecasts, but revenue trailed. The company said restaurant sales rose 10.4 percent, which was less than the 11.8 percent rise Wall Street expected. Shares 5 percent fell after the announcement.

Yum Brands - The parent company of Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants beat earnings expectations, but revenue missed as same-store sales in China—a key sector for the company—tumbled 12 percent. Shares rose about 5 percent in after-hours trading.

VMWare - The cloud software provider's first-quarter profit and sales came in slightly above Wall Street projections, but shares declined 2 percent in light trading.
