The big story for earnings season is continuing to play out: The strong dollar is notably affecting revenues for multinationals.
So far during the period only 42 percent of companies in the S&P 500 beat revenue estimates, according to Thomson Reuters.
One reason is the surge in the dollar, which is up more than 20 percent in the past year.
