BERLIN, N.J., April 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Saturday, April 25, more than 50 A.C. Moore team members will roll up their sleeves for A.C. Moore's first annual, Spring into Action day of service in Camden, N.J. Dedicated to crafting a better world, A.C. Moore team members and their families will unite for a day of learning, team building, fun, and meaningful service throughout the Camden community.
"We are deeply committed to serving the communities in which we live and work," said Pepe Piperno, owner of A.C. Moore, whose headquarters sits just 30 minutes outside of Camden. "Spring into Action is a wonderful opportunity to bring the A.C. Moore family together and empower our team members to be a positive force in our own backyard."
Volunteers will serve at one of four Camden organizations A.C. Moore has partnered with:
- Cathedral Kitchen: Team members will make sandwiches and help with meal service at Cathedral Kitchen, an organization that provides essential life services that support the health and well being of the Camden community.
- Heart of Camden: Team members painting abandoned and boarded up houses in South Camden with the Heart of Camden, an independent community development nonprofit dedicated to the revitalization of the South Camden neighborhood.
- NJ Tree Foundation: Team members will plant trees along the inner city streets with the NJ Tree Foundation, a statewide nonprofit dedicated to planting trees in NJ's most urban communities.
- Ronald McDonald House of SJ: Team members will prepare meals for families, as well as help beautify the house grounds – inside and out – by gardening and cleaning at the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey, which serves as a "home-away-from-home" for seriously ill or injured children and their families.
Spring into Action will serve as the kick-off to A.C. Moore's commitment to offering annual service opportunities for its team members.
