Charter, Time Warner Cable CEOs to meet next week to talk deal: Source

Faber Report: Charter likely to meet Time Warner Cable

Charter Communications and Time Warner Cable are likely to meet next week to discuss a possible deal, sources told CNBC on Wednesday.

Charter CEO Thomas Rutledge called Time Warner Cable's Rob Marcus to arrange the meeting, according to sources. The two executives discussed a meeting during a brief phone call last week.

There is an expectation among people close to the situation meetings will take place after Time Warner Cable reports earnings, not likely this week, but highly likely next week. The expectation is that any overture from Charter will be private in nature.
