On March 17, 2015, convenience store chain Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., which operates in the U.S. mostly under the Circle K brand, acquired The Pantry, Inc. which operates primarily under the Kangaroo Express brand.
Couche-Tard is the leader in the Canadian convenience store industry. In the United States, it is the largest independent convenience store operator in terms of number of company-operated stores.
