International Space Station: How to use a toilet in space

Ever wondered how astronauts...relieve themselves?

Apparently a lot of people have asked, and now we have an answer. In a video released on Friday, Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoferetti walks viewers through a tour of the toilet on the International Space Station.

Waste is stored in containers on the space station and hauled out on the regular missions to and from the stations. The two devices that comprise the toilet both use suction to pull particles into disposal containers and keep them from floating up into the weightless environment.

Perhaps using it is more comfortable than it looks.
