LINDON, Utah, May 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AccessData Group today announced that it has completed the sale of its Resolution1 Security business, a provider of cybersecurity solutions to Fortune 500 companies, to Fidelis Cybersecurity. Specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In November 2014, the company announced the spin-off of its cybersecurity business into the newly formed Resolution1 Security entity in order to allow separate management teams for AccessData and Resolution1 Security to capitalize on their unique business models. The separation of Resolution1 Security as a standalone business generated investment interest from a number of potential strategic buyers.
"After a careful review of our global portfolio and strategic goals, we concluded that this transaction is in the best interests of the customers, employees and investors at both AccessData and Resolution1 Security," said Tim Leehealey, chairman of AccessData Group. "The Resolution1 Platform has been an important offering within our company, but it's clear to us that there is greater long-term opportunity for the business within Fidelis Cybersecurity."
The significant escalation of sophisticated cyberattacks and data breaches illustrates that global companies are facing greater security risks and incident response challenges than ever before. AccessData anticipated this critical need in 2007 and began investing in product development to design the industry's first automated and integrated incident response solution called the Resolution1 Platform.
AccessData will move swiftly throughout 2015 to increase financial investments in its market-leading digital forensics, eDiscovery and legal review solutions for enterprises, law firms, government agencies and law enforcement organizations. The company will continue to innovate across its product portfolio -- including FTK, MPE+ and Summation -- to address the escalating challenges around digital investigations, data collection, mobile forensics, electronic discovery and the legal review process.
"We're excited about the future of AccessData as this transaction will allow us to sharpen our focus on our integrated forensics and eDiscovery solutions, with new product releases planned this year in all categories," said Leehealey. "We have very specific growth objectives in the next few years and will be investing in the company accordingly."
AccessData Group has pioneered digital forensics and litigation support for more than 25 years. Over that time, the company has grown to provide both stand-alone and enterprise-class solutions that can synergistically work together to enable both criminal and civil eDiscovery of any kind, including digital investigations, computer forensics, legal review, compliance, auditing and information assurance.
