Actress and activist Marlo Thomas has advice for entrepreneurs: Never face the facts.
"All the facts are against anybody from taking any kind of leap in your life, so you have to say those are everybody else's facts and now I'm going to create my own path," she told CNBC at the 2015 Iconic Conference in Chicago this week.
She added that age shouldn't deter someone from pursuing goals since, "you are going to be 40 anyway, so why not do what you want to do?"
Thomas is also the national outreach director for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which was founded by her father, Danny Thomas, in the early 1960s.
"I know we are doing the cutting-edge research that's going to save this kid's life, so no matter how tired I am I get up the next morning and get back on the road," she said.
