This event marked the sixth in a series of Charity Coalition bi-monthly luncheons. The program highlights included; a short presentation from founder and President Andrea Clarke of “Mothers of Minors”, a single mother, helping other single mothers and parents to provide for their families and a marketing seminar by Joanie Sigal of SJS Marketing.

Some of the organizations represented were the Juvenile Welfare Board, Religious Community Services – Grace House Shelter, Homeless Emergency Project, Police Athletic League and the Clearwater Beach Rotary.

Lisa Mansell, the Public Outreach Director of the Church of Scientology, welcomed the guests and Jenny Webb, Community Affairs Director for the Church was the MC.

Jenny Webb shared an excerpt from Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health where L. Ron Hubbard states, “… it is a remarkable fact, a scientific fact, that the healthiest children, come from the happiest mothers”.

Andrea Clarke gave a 5-minute speech on the history of her charity and their work in helping needy mothers in times of adversity.

The moved audience gave her a standing ovation. Attendees donated baby diapers and wipes to her organization for single mothers in need, amassing a pile 4 feet high.

Joanie Sigal delivered a short workshop covering internet marketing basics for nonprofits and how to be effective despite the cost limitations many non-profits face. Topics included “social media”, “internet newsletters”, and the value of “E-mail marketing” which was well received by the audience.

One attendee summed up the overall response of the guests stating, “It is so wonderful to be all together with these people, who all want to help. I have been wanting to help other people all my life, it is my purpose and to be in a room of people with the same purpose is great!”

Ms. Webb announced that the next Charity Coalition Luncheon will take place July 29th.
