Twitter's outgoing CEO Dick Costolo and incoming interim CEO Jack Dorsey gave CNBC an exclusive look into the company's upcoming transition, though their strategic plans weren't what caught viewers' attention.
Surprisingly, it was Dorsey's recently-grown beard, which reportedly hit Twitter's trending topic section after users began buzzing. It also became the subject of a parody accounts: @jackdorseybeard and @DorseysBeard.
After being flooded with questions and comments about Dorsey's beard, CNBC's Squawk on the Street addressed the inevitable. "Does it help you as a CEO?" Dorsey was asked. "Is a sterner sort of approach or do you consider actually eliminating the beard at some point?"
While it wasn't a question he said he was expecting, Dorsey simply replied, "people shouldn't be measured by what they look like."
