Canada's government servers hacked in cyberattack

The list of countries reporting cyberattacks on government servers just grew by one.

Canadian Parliament member Tony Clement confirmed in a tweet on Wednesday that Canada's servers were attacked, urging citizens to instead call 1-800-OCanada until full government service was restored.

Hacking group Anonymous took responsibility for the attack in an apparent retaliation to Canada's recent approval of new anti-terrorism laws.

Government service websites such as as well the site for Canada's spy agency were among those originally affected.
