Azul Named Best Low Cost Airline in South America for 5th Consecutive Year by Skytrax

SAO PAULO, Brazil, June 18, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Azul Brazilian Airlines, Brazil's largest airline by cities served, has been named best low-cost airline in South America at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, presented at the Paris Air Show. This is the fifth consecutive time the airline has won the honor.

The award is based on a survey of millions of airline passengers from around the world who voted for their favorite travel experiences of the last year. Skytrax is acknowledged as running one of the most comprehensive customer satisfaction surveys in the airline industry. Airline passengers from more than 160 countries participated in the latest survey. The survey measures standards across 41 key performance indicators of airline products and services.

"Azul's fifth consecutive win in our category demonstrates the tireless work our 11,000 crewmembers do every day to delight our customers within Brazil and on our international routes to the USA," said David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Azul.

Trey Urbahn, Vice President of Strategy at the airline, and Renan Chieppe, CEO of Aguia Branca Group, one of Azul's largest shareholders, received the award in the French capital.
