The Mid-June short interest represents 5.02 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 5.05 days for the prior reporting period.
Short interest in 696 securities on The NASDAQ Capital MarketSM totaled 780,034,535 shares at the end of the settlement date of June 15, 2015 compared with 756,332,371 shares in 694 securities for the previous reporting period. This represents 4.26 days average daily volume, compared with the previous reporting period’s figure of 4.55.
In summary, short interest in all 2,976 NASDAQ® securities totaled 8,869,362,140 shares at the June 15, 2015 settlement date, compared with 2,969 issues and 8,579,420,917 shares at the end of the previous reporting period. This is 4.94 days average daily volume, compared with an average of 5.00 days for the previous reporting period.
