BIRMINGHAM, ALA., June 25, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Altec is delighted to announce the release of our newest cable placer, the T40P. The Altec T40P is a very unique offering as it combines the most popular components and technologies with upgrades from our existing line of cable placers, the A-T40C, AP45A and A40P into an improved best in class cable placing solution. This newly configured and upgraded product will offer the best value in the market for new and existing Altec customers in aerial telecommunications, construction and maintenance.
The aerial component of the T40P cable placer comes from the upgraded current Altec A40P, our most recent design that incorporates the most customer preferred features of a cable placing aerial in the industry. It will utilize a newly designed closed center hydraulic system for improved control functionality.
The upgraded stringing system comes partially from the A-T40C since it is recognized as the industry-standard cable handling system on the market. Utilizing strand reel & full stringing capabilities, electro/hydraulic strand brakes and a full stringing bull wheel and tow line, the T40P is best in class and will continue to set the standard for years to come.
Reel Braking System:
Lastly, the reel braking system is designed and engineered utilizing the efficient and proven Altec electric over hydraulic system that has satisfied and exceeded the needs of our customers year after year.
Additional features of the T40P include:

- Updated variable displacement hydraulic system with new single handle joystick controller with multi-functioning capabilities.
- Redesigned, cable reel lifting system with automatic bi-directional capability.
