ACTON, Mass., June 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Multiscreen innovator SeaChange International, Inc. (NASDAQ:SEAC) today announced that it has expanded its key role with Belgian cable company VOO by enabling advanced multiplatform personalization features of the new évasion TV service. The SeaChange Adrenalin platform in place for VOO was enhanced to introduce restart and catch-up viewing services.
Adrenalin also enables VOO to offer automatic bookmarking so that subscribers can pause a program and resume later on a different device. The ability to record programs remotely from a connected device for subsequent viewing via set-top boxes will be added to VOO this year.
"évasion is a major advance because it makes our experience highly personal and consistent across all platforms," said Tamara Leemans, VOO's Chief Technology Officer. "SeaChange has played a big role by putting more intelligence into our operation to enable restart and all other functions to work seamlessly across different screens so that users can watch and enjoy our content wherever they are."
Jay Samit, CEO, SeaChange commented, "From the outset, VOO's multiscreen TV service broke new ground in the industry and this customer has not stood still. SeaChange is thrilled to collaborate on a large scale offering that demonstrates precisely how television service providers can adapt and compete for consumers."
With the debut of évasion, VOO has expanded on what was already a highly acclaimed service based on SeaChange's Adrenalin software from the outset. Originally branded VOOmotion, it was launched to subscribers in December 2012 as an HTML5-based multiscreen service with intuitive navigation for tablets, smartphones and PCs and access to 40 live TV channels, as well as thousands of on-demand titles. SeaChange and VOO were jointly awarded the 2013 Cable Europe Innovation Award as recognition that the service had broken new ground for multiscreen.
The comprehensive Adrenalin multiscreen television platform, combined with the SeaChange Nitro subscriber experience software, enables service providers to deliver advanced linear, time shift, VOD and nPVR services via a single, unified back office for individualized subscriber experiences. Adrenalin has been integrated with a content recommendation engine from ThinkAnalytics for VOO. Last week during the Connected TV World Summit in London, Adrenalin was awarded a Videonet Connected TV Award commendation in the Video Technology Hero category, which identifies solutions that solve problems or open doors to major opportunities in television.
VOO provides analogue and digital cable television, including premium TV under brand name BeTV, high speed internet at speeds of 150Mbps, and digital telephony services, primarily to residential customers in Wallonia and Brussels. For additional information, please visit www.voo.be and www.betv.be.
