It's not easy being green. Entertainment power couple Kermit and Miss Piggy have called it quits.

So much for a rainbow connection.

The pair revealed that their long-term romance had come to an end on Tuesday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. Despite the split, both will remain attached to ABC's "The Muppets," a mockumentary comedy series due out in September.

The green actor seemed to be handling the break-up well.

Disney purchased the Muppet franchise from the Jim Henson Co. in 2004 for an undisclosed sum. Disney's CEO at the time, Michael Eisner, had attempted to purchase the company in early 2003, but the Henson family bought the company instead for $78 million, according to Forbes.
