NEW YORK, Aug. 10, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Houlihan Lokey, the international investment bank, today announced that Stephan Hartman has joined the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions Group within Corporate Finance where he will focus on the needs of mid-cap public companies. He is based in New York.

Mr. Hartman joins from Apollo Global Management where he was a Managing Director and Head of the Global Acquisitions Deal Sourcing Group which he built during his tenure at that firm. Prior to Apollo, he led cross border M &A teams and business development at EuroConsult M &A and G.C. Andersen Partners, held positions in Leverage Finance and Financial Sponsors at Deutsche Bank Securities and Lehman Brothers and practiced corporate law.

"We see a tremendous opportunity to work with underbanked public companies," said Steven Tishman, Global Head of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group. "With nearly 15 years of experience in both private equity and investment banking as well as four years of legal transaction experience across private equity, bulge-bracket, and boutique firms, Stephan's breadth of expertise is perfectly suited to this mandate. We're delighted that he has joined the M &A Group and look forward to his meaningful contribution to the growth of our firm," he continued.

"It's a pleasure to have joined an investment bank with both a dominant presence in mid-cap transactions and extensive expertise in activist defense," said Mr. Hartman. "I look forward to further expanding Houlihan Lokey's public company client relationships and helping maintain its leadership position in this active segment of the market," he continued.

Mr. Hartman holds a B.A. in Economics from the College of Arts & Sciences and a B.S. in Entrepreneurship from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania as well as a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
