DETROIT, Sept. 8, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, Marygrove College named Gregory L. Cascione, Ph.D. as the new Interim Vice President of Institutional Advancement. Dr. Cascione, who has more than two decades of experience in development and higher education, will officially join the college on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
"I am very excited to have Dr. Cascione join the leadership team at Marygrove College as the Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement," said Dr. James F. Birge, Interim President of Marygrove. "Greg brings extensive advancement experience to the College and will be instrumental in helping us to enhance our fundraising, alumni, and communications operations."
Cascione comes to Marygrove from a national consulting firm, The Reid Group, where he served as Senior Consultant specializing in fund development and assisting in strategic planning. He has experience at every level of advancement, from Catholic elementary and high school programs to elite public and private universities, including Fordham University, Harvard Law School, The Wharton School, the University of Michigan, and the University of Detroit Mercy. He has extensive experience in Catholic education and over 25 years in higher education.
During his tenure at the University of Detroit Mercy, Dr. Cascione served as Vice President for University Advancement, Associate Vice President for Development, and as Director of Development for the College of Business Administration. He earned a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Michigan, an M.B.A. from the University of Edinburgh (U.K.), an M.T.S. in ethics from Harvard University, and a B.A. in philosophy from Fordham University.
Under Dr. Cascione's leadership and with his fundraising expertise, Marygrove College will continue to build on recent successes, enabling the college to make continued improvements to benefit the Marygrove community, its neighborhood, and the city of Detroit.
