Charts: Chip stocks breaking out?

Semiconductor stocks rallied Tuesday, outperforming the broader market as investors appear to get behind the group.

The Market Vectors Semiconductor ETF is up 17 percent since reaching a 52-week low of $43.53 on Aug. 24.

The ETF is also on pace to close above its 50-day moving average since June, a bullish technical indicator that could add momentum to the rally.
