Goucher presented a $1,500 contribution on behalf of Carando to Biddeford Food Pantry, a food shelter focusing on helping the citizens of Biddeford, ME provide food to those in need.
The donation was made as a part of the "Carando Cares" program, an ongoing campaign established in 2013 to support the people who are making a positive difference in New England communities. The program has seen hams delivered to Boston fire stations, an Easter dinner served for the patients at Shriners Hospital for Children-Boston, members of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine get treated to a baseball game and Christmas dinners served to Springfield firefighters and at the Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, Mass., among several additional events.
"It's an honor to partner with Carando and Market Basket and aid them in fighting hunger," said Goucher. "It's great to see organizations like Biddeford Food Pantry that are helping to make a difference and assist those in need. They've shown unbelievable dedication to our community and I'm excited that we could make this donation today. I know it will go a long way in helping the community."
Goucher has been the Bruins radio play-by-play announcer on since 2000. He has been named New England's top radio play-by-play announcer by the Associated Press three times (2003, 2006, & 2007) and won the AP "Best Sportscast" award in 2006.
"At Carando, we're passionate about helping others and supporting organizations that make a difference in our communities," said Dan Incaudo, General Manager, Carando. "Biddeford Food Pantry has been an asset to Biddeford. They have gone to great lengths to fight hunger and have provided meals to so many people in need. We appreciate all they do and are glad our contribution will allow them to continue helping others."
