Fears of tepid global growth took center stage this week once again, sending equity benchmarks across the board in the red.

As economic projections languish and market indexes head toward their correction lows, CNBC Pro reached out to some leading investors who are part of the "Squawk Box" Platinum Portfolio to find out how to ride out this spike in volatility.

In the past three months, the fear gauge, also known as the VIX, is up 76 percent.The S&P 500 is down 9 percent from its high in 2015, while other benchmarks like Germany's DAX and Japan's Nikkei have fallen 22 percent and 14 percent, respectively.
