Best value for money countries for football fans

As die-hard soccer fans who travel the length and breadth of their countries to follow their teams know, support does not come cheap. You need to sometimes take planes and trains as well as automobiles to get to the stadium, and then there's the food and the obligatory pint.

A new analysis from Berlin-based travel search website GoEuro and app Onefootball shows which country offers the best value for the money spent to watch a match. The price of a ticket is obviously a crucial factor but so is the overall quality of the league.

So which countries offer soccer that is easy on the eye and light on the wallet? Here's the top 10, represented by the largest stadiums where clubs from the highest division play week in week out:

The average price to watch a top division soccer game in Brazil? $28.50.

Maracanã hosted the largest audience in the history of soccer, about 200,000 people, when Brazil played Paraguay for a World Cup slot in 1969.

The capacity has since been reduced. Clubs Flamengo and Fluminense share the 74,738-seat stadium as their home ground now.

A ticket to watch a top-flight soccer game in Turkey costs a somewhat modest $14.19.

The largest stadium used by a club is the Turk Telekom Arena, which has a capacity of 52,650. The stadium's record attendance of 52,044 was made in 2013 when home team Galatasaray played against Real Madrid, the richest football club in the world.

It costs about $76.98 per person to watch a game in Italy.

Commonly known as San Siro, The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza is a soccer stadium located in the province of Milan shared by bitter rivals AC Milan and Inter Milan.

With a capacity of 80,018, the stadium is set to host the 2016 UEFA Champions League Final.

The average ticket price to watch a soccer game in Belgium is $30.72.

Jan Breydel Stadium is home to top-flight clubs, Club Brugge and Cercle Brugge.
