NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Makovsky, one of the world's largest independent integrated communications firms, has named Denise Vitola as Managing Director, a new position.
Denise Vitola brings 17 years of experience in public relations marketing to Makovsky, and has been tapped to serve in a leadership position for all practice leaders and support the CEO with the strategic direction of the firm.
Most recently Denise was at MSLGROUP as the North American Practice Director, Consumer, and before that, the Deputy Managing Director of its Atlanta office where she significantly helped to expand revenues. Her background includes a diverse, dynamic mix of industry and practice specialties and leadership management experience. Her expertise ranges from consumer to financial communications to health, retail and integrated communications including digital and social media marketing. In her tenure, among others, she oversaw the P&G Personal Health Care portfolio globally, PayPal, Abbott Nutrition, The Home Depot and Purina.
"Denise is a rare and exemplary leader in the public relations industry, who has an outstanding track record of winning new business, developing fast growing blue chip clients and possessing superior management expertise," stated Ken Makovsky, the firm's founder, president and CEO. "Denise represents the best of possibilities amid the dynamic change in a converging marketing and communications arena."
Prior to MSLGROUP, Denise worked at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide as Senior Vice President and deputy practice director in the consumer marketing group. Earlier in her career, she held roles at MWW, where she oversaw all communications programs for Bank of America, and at Kaplow, where she developed key campaigns for eBay and Netflix.
"I am thrilled to have this opportunity to join Makovsky, an agency that has executed award-winning, and admirable work for 35 years," added Denise Vitola. "Having spent a large portion of my career at large agencies and some midsize firms, I made a conscious decision to come back to midsize where the clients and people are truly the main priority, and the agency can accelerate at the speed of change that this disruptive marketplace requires. With a deep understanding of industry trends like social, digital, paid and integrated communications, I am excited about joining Makovsky to innovate for the future."
Chief Human Resources Officer Stacey Wachtfogel added, "We are overjoyed to welcome the addition of Denise's extraordinary talent to our organization. We are confident that her fresh thinking, award-winning background and leadership experience will embolden and empower our specialized thinking into even bigger ideas and wins for our clients and our agency."
