Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada releases resource on inclusion of transgender members

TORONTO, Oct. 13, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Girl Guides of Canada–Guides du Canada (GGC) is the leading organization for girls and women in Canada. With a long history of inclusivity GGC recognizes and values the richness of diversity in its many forms. Affirming that all persons who live their lives as female are welcome to join the organization, GGC is proud to announce the release of their Guidelines for the Inclusion of Transgender Members. This resource will assist volunteer Unit Guiders in welcoming girls who identify as transgender and in working alongside transgender adult members and parents.

The resource was created in consultation with j wallace of Juxtapose Consulting. Released to the adult membership on October 5th, it has been met with enthusiasm and pride by members across the country, and interest and support from sister organizations around the world.
