Point Blank Enterprises Showcases Its Ground-Breaking Innovations in Ballistic Armor Systems, Body-Worn Cameras and In-Car Audio/Video Technologies for Law Enforcement at IACP 2015

POMPANO BEACH, Fla., Oct. 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Point Blank Enterprises (“Point Blank” or “PBE”), the worldwide leader in the production of soft body armor and related protective solutions, will be exhibiting its latest and greatest ballistic systems and surveillance technologies at the 122nd International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference & Expo on October 24-27, 2015 at McCormick Place West in Chicago, Illinois.

“We’re very excited to highlight our most advanced body armor solutions, carrier designs and technology-driven accessories at this year’s IACP show, some of the firsts the industry has seen,” stated Michael Foreman, EVP of International Business Development, Federal Sales and Marketing. “Since establishing our new business unit – PBE Advanced Technology Group – a few months ago, we continue to focus on expanding product offerings to meet the vital comfort, performance and life-saving needs of our Federal, Domestic and International law enforcement officers. IACP is yet another coming-out opportunity where our PBE team will demonstrate to the industry and our end-users the great strides being made not just in body armor designs but also in the development of state-of-the art equipment and software ranging from body-worn cameras, in-car audio and video solutions, and evidence management applications which further support both officer and public safety/security.”

Among the flagship solutions that will be showcased at the Point Blank Enterprises Booth #1319 are the newest Alpha Elite Black ballistic package, the lightest Level IIIA body armor available in PBE’s revolutionary Alpha Elite Series, and latest IRIS (Intelligent Retrievable Incident System) CAM which brings the power of high-definition video recording in a body-worn camera.

As the first body armor ever made with the Dyneema® Force Multiplier Technology by DSM, the Alpha Elite system continues to break ground since its introduction to the market only two years ago. The most recent advancement is the incredible reduction in weight of the Level IIIA ballistic package. Referred to as the Alpha Elite Black, the enhanced ballistic package weighs in at a remarkable 0.79 pounds per square foot (psf), decreasing from 0.87 psf and surpassing previous levels of comfort in a Level IIIA package offered by PBE as well as the average of the best models in the industry. The Alpha Elite Black creates an entirely new standard in comfort while continuing to provide extraordinary protection, flexibility, mobility and coverage; high effectiveness against fragmentation; and multi-hit and special-threat performance beyond FBI protocols.

The IRIS CAM is an exciting new technology which offers 1296p video recording even closer to the action with a 140 degree field of vision. Designed to meet agencies’ growing demands for a visual and audio record of officers’ interactions with the public, the body-worn camera is attachable to the shoulder loop or shirt pocket. A large front mounted button allows for easy one-touch recording, and the event marking feature allows important video clips to be flagged so that they are not subject to automatic deletion. The system can support up to 30 seconds pre/post recording along with audio (pre-recording of audio can be disabled). The belt clip enables adjustment of the camera angle and start/stop recording without removing the device. A long lasting field replaceable lithium polymer battery ensures that the IRIS CAM will last through a whole shift, while 60fps recording captures detail even in fast moving pursuit situations.

Mr. Foreman continued, “Experience has taught us that delivering the best in personal protection requires an ongoing commitment and investment in R&D initiatives – as seen with the formation of the PBE Advanced Technology Group – and the broadening of offerings into new channels through strategic acquisitions and partnerships – demonstrated most recently by the Company’s purchase of Eye3Data, an industry leader in digital security surveillance solutions. We look forward to engaging with attendees about these and other initiatives at the conference.”

The IACP Annual Conference and Exposition brings together more than 14,000 public safety professionals to learn new techniques, advance their knowledge and careers and equip their departments to operate more efficiently and effectively. During four high-impact days at IACP 2015, attendees will have exclusive access to law enforcement’s leading tacticians, veteran experts and equipment suppliers, as well as agency chiefs and leaders.
