Josh Brown of "Halftime Report" is buying Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Adobe for his CNBC Pro model portfolio as he believes the stocks are about to break out.

The CEO and co-founder of Ritholtz Wealth Management is currently in second place versus his peers. His contest portfolio is up over 7 percent this year, compared with the market's flat performance.
