(Nasdaq:VTL), a biotherapeutic company developing the ELAD® System, a cell-based therapy targeting the treatment of liver failure, today announced the closing of its previously announced underwritten public offering of 6,272,727 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $5.50 per share, including 818,181 shares sold pursuant to the underwriter's full exercise of its option to purchase additional shares. The aggregate gross proceeds from this offering were approximately $34.5 million, before deducting the underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses payable by Vital Therapies.
BofA Merrill Lynch acted as sole book-running manager for the offering.
