U.S. franchisees added 52,500 jobs in October, well above September's gains, ADP said Wednesday.
Franchise jobs grew by 33,000 .
"October marks the highest number of franchise jobs added since we began publishing the report," said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and head of the ADP Research Institute.
"Over 90 percent of the growth came from auto parts and dealers and restaurants, two sectors where job growth typically signals increased consumer spending," she said.
Restaurant franchise jobs grew by 39,190 last month, while auto parts and dealers added 10,260, ADP said.
Leisure franchisees, on the other hand, saw jobs contract by 1,050, or 1.2 percent.
