First National Corporation Redeems Preferred Stock

STRASBURG, Va., Nov. 09, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- First National Corporation (the “Company”) (OTC:FXNC), the parent company of First Bank (the “Bank”), today announced its redemption of all 13,900 shares of Series A preferred stock at par for $13.9 million and all 695 shares of Series B preferred stock at par for $695 thousand on November 6, 2015. The Company also paid accrued dividends through November 5, 2015, totaling $20.30 per share on both the Series A and Series B preferred stock. The Company was able to complete the previously-announced redemption on November 6, 2015 instead of the originally planned date of December 2, 2015.
