There's gold in them thar hills!

Well, maybe not gold. But in the town of Braselton, Georgia, there are salvageable old cars just sitting in mounds of junk.

Brendan Digel, a 45-year-old Atlanta-based auto tech, got the hookup from a friend who owns one of those mounds — a BMW salvage yard.

Sort of as a joke, he gave Digel the rusted-out shell of a 1972 BMW CS, which resembled a Flintstones car with no bottom.

Though the shell was too far gone to turn into a street car, Digel decided he could definitely make it into a racer. And it's a beauty!

So what does Jay Leno think about grabbing old cars out of the junkyard and taking them vintage racing? Watch the video to find out.
