In the second installment of CNBC.com's Holiday Wish List series, Alan Tisch offers up his best gift ideas for friends, family and, well, himself.
I have always been grateful that my childhood was full of incredible holiday memories with family and friends. As my siblings and I grow older and our family increases in numbers, we try to keep holiday tradition a priority by ensuring we are together to celebrate. Whether its preparing and cooking huge dinners, going out to our favorite New York restaurant or celebrating in more alternative ways such as ordering giant Chinese dinners, being together is the most important part.
Exchanging personalized gifts is another one of my favorite holiday traditions. My friends & family know that I am an avid sneaker collector & they do a fantastic job of contributing to my growing collection each year. This year, we will be celebrating the holidays in Florida.
Here's my wish list:
Via Vianel New York, $270
My friend Andrew (Brooks) founded Vianel, and they just nailed designing the perfect card holder. Their small card cases are a great gift for anyone. The V3 wallet keeps everything organized... that is when you're not purchasing on mobile.
Via Amazon, $10
A fellow sneakerhead and awesome producer, Pharrell's latest book 'Happy' is perfect to keep on the coffee table for friends and family to explore when they come over during the season.
Warm for winter
Via Isaora, $445
You can't go wrong with a classic style upgraded with high-tech features like a laser-cut Japanese 3-layer waterproof nylon. The perfect jacket for whatever weather New York City throws at you.
Via Del Toro Shoes, $325
I love what the team at Del Toro is doing. Their new holiday pop-up space in SoHo has some awesome new releases. And let's be honest, it wouldn't be a holiday wish-list of mine without a pair of sneakers.
Via Spring, $6,100
Hand-drawn and signed by Damien Hurst? Probably not something that will ever get ridden...
