NEW YORK, Dec. 1, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BankMobile, America's first absolutely no-fee, mobile, tablet and online bank, today announced that Luvleen Sidhu, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer, was selected as one of New York Business Journal's Women of Influence Award honorees.

"We congratulate Luvleen on being recognized among so many other powerful female leaders in New York City," stated Jay Sidhu, Chief Executive Officer of BankMobile and Customers Bank. "Her determination to change lives by offering affordable financial services and financial education to those who desperately need it make Luvleen truly deserving of this honor."

Sidhu is among 79 women who were selected by New York Business Journal. In the Fall of 2015, the publication asked for nominations of female business leaders who innovate, succeed and pay it forward. They were looking for women who have demonstrated a track record of success in their business and who also put a premium on mentoring those around them and supporting the next generation of women in business.

Other honorees include: Girl Scouts CEO Anna Maria Chavez, Partnership for New York City president and CEO Kathryn Wylde, GlamSquad CEO Alexandra Wilkis Wilson, Skylight Group founder and CEO Jennifer Blumin, startup investor Joanne Wilson, and Yahoo chief revenue officer Lisa Utzschneider.

This year's award winners will be honored at luncheon on January 20, 2016.

New York Business Journal's Women of Influence program is part of a national effort by American City Business Journals, a premier company in the country devoted to the reporting of local business news, to identify and celebrate women business leaders and to foster business environments that will create even more successful women in the future.
