SINGAPORE, 3rd December 2015 – CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, took home the Best News Programme award at the 20th Asian Television Awards for its flagship morning show, Squawk Box Asia.
Squawk Box is the marquee brand in business news and the Asia edition is anchored from Hong Kong by 2011 Asian Television Award Best Current Affairs Presenter, Bernie Lo. Since its inception, Squawk Box Asia has provided enlightening and engaging conversations about the top stories of the day with daily guests that include top CEOs, influential asset managers and newsmakers.
"I'm delighted Squawk Box has been named Best News Programme at the Asian Television Awards. Cable news is a marathon, not a sprint. The Squawk Box team is on air for 15 hours every week and this award is an acknowledgment of the hard work the team puts in day in, day out. I'm also grateful to the judges for recognizing CNBC's brightest on air talent who work tirelessly to deliver the best in class journalism our reputation is built upon," said John Casey, Senior Vice President, International News and Programming, CNBC.
Launched in 1996, Asian Television Awards is the Asian television industry's highly celebrated event that recognises excellence in programming, production and performance.
