Halftime Report Traders: Here's Who Apple Should Buy

Apple analyst Daniel Ives of FBR has a Christmas shopping list for CEO Tim Cook. He's highlighting four companies that could be potential acquisition targets.

Ives says Adobe, Box, GoPro and Tesla could be a good fit for the tech giant.

Apple currently has nearly $206 billion dollars in cash and equivalents on its balance sheet according to FactSet.

JOE'S TRADE

"Box is interesting and relatively cheap," said Joe Terranova. "I like the synergies with Box but Apple wants to be more in the entertainment business. They could buy the WWE or the NHL," he adds.

JON'S TRADE

"GoPro would be a good fit," notes Jon Najarian. "GoPro is cheap at these levels."

"Viacom gives them access to 160 countries around the world," says Jon. "That would be an interesting one for me."

PETE'S TRADE

"Tesla would be a huge step by Tim Cook but I don't expect that to happen," says Pete Najarian. "I think GoPro would fit in."

THE CONTRARIAN

"Don't forget that Apple is perhaps the greatest product creation and engineering firm in the history of the world," adds Josh Brown. "They should use that cash for R&D, buybacks, dividends."
