AirportXP Uncovers U.S. Airports with the Highest and Lowest Satisfaction Levels for Security Checkpoints

RHINEBECK, N.Y., Dec. 21, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Phoenix Marketing International's AirportXP mobile experience tool, which allows travelers to share their experience at the 250 busiest U.S. Airports, has today revealed the U.S. airports with the highest and lowest security checkpoint satisfaction. The research, based on 144,600 air travelers evaluating over 200 airports nationwide from July through November, 2015, shows satisfaction with airport security checkpoints varies widely throughout the country.

Overall, Flint Michigan's Bishop International, was shown to have the highest rate of traveler satisfaction regarding security checkpoints, with nine out of ten passengers pleased with the process. Adversely, less than half of travelers are satisfied at Honolulu International Airport.

Below is a breakdown of the top three airports, with the highest satisfaction levels regarding security practices, in large, medium and small airport categories. (The size of the airport is based on passenger volume and classified by the Federal Aviation Administration.)

"We found that generally this varies by airport. However, according to those who participated in this research, the three key drivers of airport security checkpoint satisfaction are: the time required at the security checkpoint, the ease of finding the security checkpoint location, and the professionalism of the security checkpoint staff. If these three factors are positively aligned, the airport typically had higher rates of overall satisfaction regarding security."
