Thousands of frightened, squealing pigs found themselves on the highway Tuesday when a tractor-trailer carrying them overturned on a rainy road in Raleigh, North Carolina, reported WNCN.
The vehicle, aptly named "Pork Chop," was carrying 2,600 piglets and fell on its side, hitting a guard rail. Raleigh Police and animal control officers were on the scene and reported that some of the swine were "seriously injured."

The accident closed two lanes of traffic on I-40 west and it took two hours to right the fallen tractor-trailer.
The truck was traveling from Iowa to Johnson County. The Raleigh Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment on the exact destination of the cargo.
