TOMI Expands Adoption of SteraMist Into the Malaysian Market

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Dec. 29, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TOMI™ Environmental Solutions, Inc. (OTCQB:TOMZ) (TOMI), a global bacteria decontamination and infection prevention company, received an order for its SteraMist™ decontamination technology from SG Environmental Solutions Pte Ltd, one of TOMI’s™ international distribution partners. The company expects SteraMist to be deployed in a variety of decontamination and disinfection applications including healthcare, senior care, childcare and educational facilities, dental and oral surgery offices, tourist transportation including buses, boats and emergency transports within Malaysia.

The order, valued at approximately $400,000, was received following TOMI’s presentation at the Current Trends in Infection Control Conference in Malacca, Malaysia on November 3rd. Putra, an association of hospitals, sponsored the conference, which included a number of infection control specialists in the Southeast Asian region.

Dr. Halden Shane, TOMI’s Chief Executive Officer, stated: “SteraMist continues to be the equipment of choice in a variety of decontamination applications around the globe. This order from our distribution partner demonstrates the value of our distribution channel expansion efforts, as well as the benefits derived from the academic presentations, product demonstrations, trade show exhibitions and industry conferences TOMI has been attending.”

“Following TOMI’s presentation at the Current Trends in Infection Control Conference in Malacca, we were approached by multiple attendees, including representatives from the Center for Disease Control, who saw the value in our products and technologies. We received significant interest in our SteraMist platform for use in a variety of applications including combating tuberculosis. In the Malaysian market in particular, there is a pressing need to decontaminate and disinfect transportation vehicles and facilities as port of entries such as Malacca receive huge inflows of tourists and people from surrounding regions. As many of these entrants may be seeking medical treatment, the threat of spreading infectious disease increases. TOMI is at the forefront of providing eco-friendly solutions for such uses, and we are eager to pursue opportunities such as this to expand the use of SteraMist™ around the globe,” concluded Dr. Shane.

TOMI’s SteraMist has a five-second application time for room surfaces and a seven-minute contact time, the fastest of all mechanical cleaning healthcare agents. The mist produced by Binary Ionization Technology® (BIT) dries rapidly on contact, does not contain or produce toxins or harsh chemicals such as chlorine hypochlorite (bleach), aldehydes, phenols, ammonium compounds, sodium hydroxide, or contain silver.
