LOS ALTOS, Calif., Jan. 06, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DSP Group®, Inc. (NASDAQ:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, and Askey Computer Corp., a leader in Smart Home Solutions, announced today the launch of a new programmable button based on state-of-the-art ULE technology. The button allows service providers, operators and consumers to program the device in which it is integrated to support multiple use cases. Swisscom is the first telecoms operator to offer Askey’s button to its customers, as part of its new and innovative service allowing users to manage home Wi-Fi, control home lighting, and more – all by a press of a button.
ULE technology, the next generation technology for IoT applications, offers the advantages of superior range, video and audio support and long battery life. ULE products also benefit from a dedicated frequency band, which enables interference-free operation. Leveraging the DHX91 System-on-a-Chip (SoC), the new Askey button features ultra-low power consumption, extended range, simple installation and registration, and support for voice and visual security verification.
"We chose ULE for our new button due to its extended battery life, interference-free frequency bands, and long secure range," said Arthur Li, Product Director Smart Home at Askey. "With DECT already integrated into our gateways for wireless voice, it was a natural choice to upgrade to ULE. DSP Group's DHX91 is a perfect fit for our innovative button, offering the right combination of cost, performance, low power, and seamless integration with DSP Group’s DCX81 DECT/ULE home gateway solution,” he concluded.
“We are excited to cooperate with Askey, a market leader in Smart Home Solutions, following their choice of DHX91 of the ULE button,” said Raz Kivelevich-Carmi, VP marketing and business development, ULE Product line at DSP Group. “Our SoC features a high level of integration, superior range and low power consumption – making it the ideal solution for Askey’s advanced devices,” he continued.
The new button will be demonstrated in DSP Group’s private suite in the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, January 6-9 in in DSP Group’s demonstration room in the Marriot Courtyard Hotel, located opposite the main CES halls. The demonstration is open to the public and to the media.
The new button will be demonstrated at the Askey Booth at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, January 6-9. The Askey Booth is located South Hall 3 and has the number 30258. The demonstration is open to the public and the media.
