DRAPER, Utah, Jan. 26, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Primary Intelligence, a leading market intelligence company that helps businesses retain and grow revenue, is pleased to announce it will be holding a national scholarship essay contest. The essay winner selected will receive a $1,500 scholarship for the fall 2016 semester. The Primary Intelligence team is honored to be a part of students' educational endeavors.
The scholarship is based on a September 2015 Ted Talk about "scrappers" and "silver spoons," describing "scrappers" as fighters who refuse to give up, sometimes in the face of incredible odds. Students who have faced these odds and have persevered are encouraged to apply.
"Overcoming adversity, especially against tough odds, shows grit, determination, and a will to succeed. We'd like to reward that determination by recognizing an outstanding student who did not give up, and who continues to strive for excellence in his or her educational goals," said Carolyn Galvin, director of industry insights at Primary Intelligence who is administering the company's Scholarship Program.
Primary Intelligence will hold an essay contest to award a scholarship prize of $1,500 to a deserving student to apply toward tuition and books. The funds will be distributed to the winning student's college or university for the academic school year.
Eligible students must be enrolled full-time in a 2- or 4-year accredited American university or college and be highly motivated to attain their education.
To apply, students must submit a 500-word essay discussing how they have overcome diversity in their lives and how they have used what they have learned to benefit others and their communities.
The essay submission deadline is 12:00 a.m. EST April 15 for the 2016-2017 academic school year. The Primary Intelligence Scholarship Committee will then review the submitted essays. The winner will be announced on August 1st on the Primary Intelligence website. The winner will also be notified via email.
