Australia central bank holds rates at 2 percent

Australia's central bank kept its cash rate steady at a record low of 2.0 percent on Tuesday, a widely expected decision given signs the domestic economy was holding up in the face of global headwinds.

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) made the announcement following its monthly policy meeting. A Reuters poll of 32 analysts had found all expected no change this week.
