Globe Telecom G-Xchange, Inc. Enhances GCash Services With Latest Amdocs Mobile Financial Services Solution

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 02, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Amdocs (NASDAQ:DOX), the leading provider of customer experience solutions, today announced that Globe Telecom, the leading communications service provider in the Philippines, through its wholly-owned subsidiary G-Xchange, Inc.(GXI), will upgrade its existing GCash mobile money services with the latest version of the Amdocs Mobile Financial Services (MFS) solution. The upgrade will enable GXI to expand and scale up its capabilities to address evolving mobile financial services market needs such as delivering bulk payment services for salaries and government disbursements. Amdocs’ MFS solution has been powering GCash money services since 2004.

With this latest solution, GXI will be able to deliver services faster and more efficiently, with a seamless customer experience across multiple touch points as well as improved analytics to view and manage their transactions. Besides upgrading GXI’s system, Amdocs will also provide end-to-end delivery services including project scope analysis, development, deployment, testing, capacity analysis and ongoing support services.

“GCash has come a long way in solving financial inclusion challenges in the Philippines,” said Albert Tinio, GXI chief executive officer. “This key system enhancement will enable us to realize new revenue streams with new services targeting new segments, while boosting GCash’s ability to deliver a highly scalable and efficient mobile financial services solution for consumers, merchants and organizations, meeting the business need of the evolving market place.”

“The Philippines market is increasingly shifting towards mobile payments, given the exponential rise in adoption of smartphones and online shopping,” said Patrick McGrory, division president for Amdocs emerging offerings. “The upgrade of GXI’s existing system with Amdocs’ latest MFS solution and services builds on our existing solution that has supported GCash over the last 14 years. It enables GXI to continue to innovate, capturing the immediacy of the digital age and delivering The New World of Customer Experience by enhancing its core offering to support the growing demand for mobile payments and commerce as well as other digital financial services to win customer loyalty.”
