BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 24, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Boca Raton immigration lawyer and publisher of the online community publication BocaWatch, Al Zucaro, has announced Andrea O’ Rourke as the new editor in chief of the organization. With O’Rourke’s acceptance of the position, readers can expect the in-depth coverage of topics of concern to Boca Raton residents to be elevated even further.
“Andrea offers a historical perspective that will be very beneficial to the future of the platform. Andrea will bring BocaWatch to the next level in informing and educating the residents of the activities of their local government,” said BocaWatch Publisher Al Zucaro. “Her contributions are immeasurable.”
O’Rourke is originally from the Boston area, but has lived in Boca Raton since 1979 and in Downtown Boca since 1999. “Government starts in our own backyard. I believe it is important that citizens stay aware and involved in local government,” said Andrea O’Rourke. “I have had the opportunity to represent many people in the community, therefore this platform for raising awareness of serious issues is an important responsibility. BocaWatch offers a valuable opportunity for all voices to be heard. My greatest goal as editor is to bring consensus and bridge the current divide between residents and the development community,” she concluded.
The publication is looking forward to Andrea’s fair-minded approach as a welcomed addition to the voice of BocaWatch.
“Andrea’s dedication to the city and her deep involvement in agencies like the Chamber, the Federation, and, the city’s boards and committees makes her an invaluable asset,” said Al Zucaro. “She offers a more moderate temperament as balance for other voices within BocaWatch.”
Established in 2012 as a response to over-development and congestion in Boca Raton, Al Zucaro created BocaWatch with the intention to provide a platform where the voices of residents could be heard. The main objective of the organization is to inform, educate and create dialogue that supports responsible and sustainable growth for the city’s future.
