Paterson, NJ Mayor Jose Torres Hosts Area Leaders to Introduce COPsync

DALLAS, Feb. 29, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- COPsync, Inc., (NASDAQ:COYN), which operates the nation’s only law enforcement real-time, in-car data information sharing and communication network, and the COPsync911™ threat-alert service for schools, government buildings, hospitals and other potentially at-risk facilities, joined a meeting of local government and law enforcement leaders hosted by Paterson, NJ Mayor Jose Torres. Mayor Torres organized the meeting to make local communities aware of the real-time information sharing value they will receive through participation in an area-wide roll out of the COPsync systems.

“Law enforcement information sharing has been a long-time goal, but also a high and expensive hill to climb. The technologies developed by COPsync make the costs manageable and, therefore, make the goal achievable,” said Mayor Jose ‘Joey’ Torres. “I commend the COPsync Network for providing this lifesaving technology and COPsync911 for protecting New Jersey’s educational institutions.”

The meeting highlighted a presentation of the lifesaving COPsync Network and COPsync911 technology to an audience of Mayors, Police Chiefs and other leaders from across New Jersey including Berkeley Heights, Camden, East Orange, Elizabeth, Fairfield, Haledon, Hoboken, Irvington, Jersey City, Lyndhurst, Newark, Nutley, Orange, Paterson, Perth Amboy, Plainfield, Rutherford, as well as state and federal law enforcement. The event created a forum for key decision makers in their communities to discuss the challenge presented by the lack of cross-departmental information sharing, key communication gaps between first responders and buildings which may be under attack, and strategies toward working together to solve these problems and thereby making New Jersey a model state for the rest of the nation.

COPsync Chief Executive Officer Ronald A. Woessner added, “We are excited to help Mayor Torres and the great state of New Jersey achieve this long-time vision of connecting the law enforcement agencies via a common data information sharing and communications platform and providing a cost-effective solution for protecting the New Jersey schools and other potentially at-risk facilities. As the COPsync Network and COPsync911 threat alert system are being rolled out in New Jersey, the state will become a cornerstone of further expansion in the area and elsewhere throughout the U.S. This leadership by Mayor Torres will one day prove to be a watershed event in achieving the national objective, as stated in the Homeland Security Act of 2002, of connecting the 1.1 million law enforcement officers throughout the U.S. on a common information sharing and communications system.”

About COPsync, Inc.

COPsync, Inc. (COYN) is a technology company that improves communication between and among law enforcement officers and agencies from differing jurisdictions to help them prevent and respond more quickly to crime. The COPsync Network™ connects law enforcement officers and agencies to a common data communications system, which gives officers instant access to actionable, mission-critical data and enables them to share information and communicate in real-time with other officers and agencies, even those hundreds and thousands of miles away. The Network's companion, COPsync911™ threat-alert system, enables schools, courts, hospitals, government buildings, energy, telecommunications and other potentially at-risk facilities to automatically and silently send threat-alerts directly to local law enforcement officers in their patrol cars in the event of a crisis, thereby speeding first responder response times and saving minutes when seconds count. The COPsync Network saves officer and citizen lives, reduces unsolved crimes and assists in apprehending criminals and interdicting criminal behavior -- through such features as a nationwide officer safety alert system, GPS/auto vehicle location and distance-based alerts for crimes in progress, such as school crisis situations, child abductions, bank robberies and police pursuits. The COPsync Network also eliminates manual processes and increases officer productivity by enabling officers to write electronic tickets, accident reports, DUI forms, arrest forms and incident and offense reports. The company also sells VidTac®, an in-vehicle, software-driven video system for law enforcement. Visit www.copsync.com and www.copsync911.com for more information.
