Opioid Abuse Treatment and Recovery Experts Available for Interview

AUSTIN, TEXAS, March 9, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MAP Health Management, an innovative company whose mission is to improve outcomes for individuals battling the disease of addiction, is closely tracking post treatment outcomes of people struggling with opioid abuse, which is destroying lives across our nation. The following MAP spokespeople below are available for interviews and can speak about rates of admission, length of treatment required, types of treatment found most effective, and demographics most likely to relapse.

*Jacob Levenson, Chief Executive Officer: Under Jacob's leadership, MAP is pioneering data-driven strategies in all 50 states, providing telehealth services and tracking the progress of thousands of addicts in recovery nationwide following in-patient treatment. The results are powerful, giving those struggling with addiction comprehensive treatment throughout the critical first year of their recovery and providing valuable outcomes data to vastly improve treatment. In 2015, Jacob launched the MAP Recovery Network, which is comprised of addiction treatment providers who are dedicated to using telehealth and outcomes data to drive addiction treatment. The network gives those seeking treatment the ability to make informed decisions based upon the success rates of recovery programs and health insurers the ability to reimburse the most effective treatment providers.

*Dr. Kerby Stewart, M.D., Clinical Director: Dr. Stewart provides clinical oversight to the MAP Recovery Support division, a post-discharge telephone and videoconference-based recovery support system for adults, adolescents and their families who seek to achieve long-term recovery from chemical dependency. Dr. Stewart was the Clinical Coordinator for Substance Abuse Programs at the Texas Department of State Health Services, where he focused on the implementation of evidence-based practices in both substance abuse treatment and long-term recovery support services. He has practiced Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine. In addition, he was an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Austin Academy of Integrative and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Stewart has been associated with the field of Addiction Medicine since working as a volunteer in 1981 at the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic in San Francisco.
