Verint Systems' stock tumbled in extended trading after announcing quarterly earnings far below Wall Street's estimates. Its security intelligence unit underperformed.
The enterprise security firm reported earnings of 90 cents per share, excluding certain items, on sales of $282 million, below the $1.17 per share on revenues of $318 million that Thomson Reuters consensus estimates predicted. But CEO Dan Bodner says the company's headwinds in emerging markets are expected to be temporary.
